Review by hotel critic
Review of Star InnStar Inn, located on the periphery of Pershaw, presents an intriguing balance between value and charm. The competitive pricing is a notable advantage for travelers seeking accessibility without forfeiting character. The breakfast, featuring a well-cooked full English alongside tea or coffee, sets a good precedent for the start of the day. The rooms, while not opulent, offer satisfactory amenities including complimentary tea and coffee facilities, and a flat-screen TV. My room was adequately sized, warm, and surprisingly quiet, allowing for a restful night. A notable feature was the powerful shower, which delivered consistent hot water—a must for any traveler. Although the carpet showed some wear, it remained clean and fresh, complemented by fluffy towels provided in the bathroom. Located conveniently on the High Street with access to a lovely outdoor beer garden by the river, Star Inn's quirky ambiance makes it a worthwhile compromise between luxury and cost-effectiveness for budget-conscious travelers.
